Pink Is Everywhere This Spring

April 10, 2010

Spending the day in Washington DC,  I was surrounded by the blooming color of pink everywhere.  From the Cherry Blossoms, to the magnolia tree’s, and pink tulips blooming among daffodils.  On a April Spring day after a long snowy winter… pink is  joyous, it’s flattering, and it’s nature song of change.  The luncheon I attended was for women of the age’s of 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 80.  No surprise to a  Stylist there was a room of ladies in pink. Even the table was white, with pink goblets, bright pink swirled around white patterned fine English bone China, and a center piece of  pink tulips, hydrangea’s and orchids.  The smell of spring was gloriously everywhere.  The young women to my right was an Editor for Conde Nast, she talked about finding the perfect pink lipstick to match her stunning pink dress.  Yes, in Washington pink is the new black!  The hair was coiffed and many women wore Pearls.  A sign of class and a tradition, Pearls look exceptionally lady like on Pink and the Ladies of DC.

The First Lady, Michelle Obama wears fuchsia and pink often, I was told.  Then I saw  The First Lady, on the May Issue of  Conde Nast  Traveler’s Magazine looking  gorgeous, in her fuchsia pink dress.  Earlier this year she was photographed in Vogue in another pink sheath dress.  As a Stylist, I recommend to take The First Ladies lead. Pink is the Fashions Color of Spring.  How will you add it to your wardrobe?
