Mothers For A Cause

May 7, 2010

With Pink being the color of the season, The Breast Cancer Research Fund (BCRF) Hot Pink Party’s “Sweet Sixteen” was an evening of fashion, cause, fun, and song.  The dress code at the annual Breast Cancer Research Foundation gala party was black tie and pink of any shade, as a tribute to fighting Breast Cancer. Singer Elton John was honored by  Bette Midler as New York City’s, Mayor Bloomberg declared Elton with  a “Sir Elton John Day”.   Elton sang 9 songs while Mothers, Daughters, Breast Cancer Survivors, Socialites and Celebrities like Marcia Gay Harden, Aerin Lauder, Donna Karen, Elizabeth Hurley, Hilary Rhoda, Karina Smirnoff, and Pink enjoyed.  Dressed in fabulous pink women of all generations laughed, mingled, and raised money for the BCRF Sweet Sixteen party for a cause.  The beautiful Evelyn Lauder and Elizabeth Hurley (two generations of Mothers) kicked off the celebrated by blowing out the candles on a giant Crumbs Bake Shop Cupcake. The party raised over $4 million, with Delta Airlines donating $1 million and announcing they will paint one of their 767 Aircraft pink to help raise awareness of the issue. This Mothers Day Chico Stylist honors all Mothers who fight for a cause.
